The Centurion is at the centre of the Vicars Cross Community and is very much part of its social and cultural heart.
It is very much a pub that is owned and run by the Community for the Community and by purchasing the pub we have secured the future of the pub for the local community. Our vision is to continue develop a sustainable community owned business that is inclusive, has a reputation for good customer service and which contributes to a vibrant & thriving Vicars Cross.
The Centurion had successfully completed 8 years trading as a community pub via a lease agreement with admiral taverns. However on 21st October 2024, we completed the purchase of the pub from Admiral Taverns and it is now under full community ownership.
This was made possible following our successful in our bid to the Community Ownership Fund and we were awarded a grant of £250,000 towards the purchase of the pub. It was also made possible by a fantastic local community who bought and shares and make donations towards the purchase cost.
There are regular weekly quiz nights, we also have 5 screens with Sky and BT Sports showing all major sporting events. We also have regular live music - check out the whats on section for further details of upcoming events.
The Centurion offers a range of social opportunities for all age groups of the local community and is the only fully licensed facility in Vicars Cross. It offers a wide range of beers including cask ales from a number of local Brewers.
We also have a food menu available on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday - please see our menu section for further details.
We are able to accommodate birthday and christening parties, funeral wakes, coffee mornings, group meetings for local associations such as Scouts, Football teams and School PTA’s.
Please come along and enjoy a drink of your choice in a welcoming environment.
